My house smells like dog 85% of the time.
The other 15% it smells like whatever scent I have in my melting pot.
I’m fine with that.
I do have 2 giant lovable sloppy dogs. It’s not suppose to smell like honeysuckle all the time.
But do you know what else my house is starting to smell like?
A stinky 13 year old boy who plays basketball in 90 degree weather and then goes and sits in his game room, takes his shoes off and plays games for 2 hours. It’s double the stink when he has one of his friends over.
Don’t worry. Bobby practices proper hygiene. His shoes do not.
His shoes, especially his football cleats, actually remind me of the smell of cat urine that has been sitting on the carpet for months baking in the sun.
So right at this moment in time first stinkiest room in my house has to go to the room that Bobby and his shoes spend most of the time in. The game room. The game is actually just a spare room that houses the X-Box, Playstation, Nintendo, Wi or whatever gaming system it is that he has.
The second stinkiest room in my house would have to go to the basement. This is where the dogs spend most of their time in the summer.
Occasional flatulence and wet dog stink is what encompasses this room.
Not all the time. Just occasionally. Mostly when we have guests coming over.
I could, and have, easily lit some candles and sprayed some smell good went on my way. The problem with that is I’m just masking the odors, I’m not removing them so as soon as I blow the candles out or the spray loses it’s punch I’m right back to stinky heaven.
Which is why I’m a big fan of air purifiers to control odor in specific rooms. I have one right now that I move between the basement and the game room but moving it’s a pain because it’s big so I’m happy to welcome the new Febreze™ Air Purifier into our home to help me deal with some stinky sneakers and 13 year old boy smells. The Tabletop version will fit perfectly into the game room and our older, bigger one can take up permanent residence in the basement..
